Reading the weather of discourse
A working session for writers, editors, and community operators on naming the weather you publish into. We'll build a shared vocabulary — fronts, saturation, dispersion, prevailing winds, squalls — and practice diagnosing live posts and threads. The goal is to turn shoulder-feel into craft you can hand off.
What you'll walk away with
- Working glossary of discourse-weather terms calibrated to your domain
- Diagnosis sheet for the last 5 posts you shipped — what weather were you in?
- A short forecasting checklist for your next publication window
- Three peers who can read weather alongside you
Prerequisites
- You've been publishing in some category for 6+ months
- Bring 2–3 recent posts (your own or from a feed you follow)
Concepts covered
- Discourse has weather
- Six states of discourse
- Bridging before intervention
- Vocabulary is infrastructure
